The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS is a concept electric sedan in the EQ lineup.
Overview[]
Text originally from the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS's Autocar page.
Called the Vision EQS, the new four-door provides a foretaste of what Mercedes-Benz claims will be its most advanced production model yet when it reaches showrooms in 2021. It will be launched as a direct rival to the next-generation pure-electric Jaguar XJ, as well as the Tesla Model S and Audi E-tron GT.
As such, Mercedes design director Gorden Wagoner says the EQS will attract new customers to the brand, rather than cannibalising sales from existing S-Class buyers. "The key for EQ cars is then to develop cleanliness for a technical, digital look. It is quite free-form but still very sexy, almost like the best operating systems," he said. "You must remember that majority of buyers will not be S-Class customers making the switch, but people who are entirely new to the brand.
Asphalt 8: Airborne[]
The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS was added in the Eighth Anniversary Update as a low Class D car with the following statistics:
- Starting rank: 841
- PRO rank: 1051 (+210)
- Nitro Efficiency: 5/7.5/9.5
Performance & Usage[]
The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS is a hybrid Festival car. Unlike most other Festival cars (and similarly to most hybrid Festival cars), the Vision EQS has normal top speed at lower tunes (rather than abysmal top speed), and it is therefore Multiplayer-tunable. It can compete with the Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition at stock and at higher upgrade levels.
The Vision EQS has the best nitro efficiency in the game, across all classes. Acceleration is similarly impressive as the Vision EQS has a substantial advantage over the Dodge Dart GT, Audi R8 e-tron, Tesla Model S, Cadillac ATS, and Cadillac XTS. Compared to the R8 e-tron (the next fastest accelerating car in its placement), the Vision EQS clocks in at 2.276 seconds compared to the R8 e-tron's 2.788 in reaching top speed with triple boosters. While the Model S, ATS, and XTS have a higher top speed, all have substantially worse nitro efficiencies that is exacerbated on long tracks like Tokyo and Azure Coast.
Although the Vision EQS has abysmal handling and drifting, the slower pace of low Class D races means that tight corners on Terra 9, Dubai, and Venice can still be cleared with a well-timed mid-drift boost.
With its unrivaled nitro efficiency, brilliant acceleration, and the potential of starting in first place, the Vision EQS is a formidable option on all tracks.
