  • Hi WKPQ,

my V8 drop rate study will end with the Showdown update. Therefore I'd like to ask you to keep collecting data not until the end of August, but until the end of the update. After this, the drop rates will change anyway, and it's easier to fill in your data if the box versions are consistent.

And for the V8 test: If you find the time to send some A8Box Random Box 1 Random Box 1 and A8Box Engine Box 1 Engine Box 1 data, that would be great. You did participate in the Bentley Continental and Regera events, didn't you?

    P. S.: I think it would be helpful if you provided a reason in the edit summary box when reverting user edits so they know why and don't feel offended.

  • You spent all night taking out my photos? Didn't I upload MAX PRO photos already? Ok admin. You're in charge. The photo made no difference. Maybe I should leave photos to you? IF YOU'LL CHANGE THEM THAT IS

  • You realise rank 500 doesn't exist anymore? It's misleading to keep it the same. Because when people use a car they go to the wiki and look at stats and rank. And then they get confused because it doesn't match. But it's fine. I was just trying to help by updating the information on the vehicles. But if you want to confuse and mislead, then that's your problem.

  • Hi,

I was wondering if you have any Tech Box statistics?

They're so rare that our sample size is still quite small. I've got the impression that their drop rates are false, but I'd like to have more data.

    • I currently have 10 Tech Box 1 in my inventory.

Unless you want those now, I'll be posting it in another data dump at the end of August.

    • It's ok at the end of August, thanks.

  • Hi WKPQ,

I've simplified the box tips for the event pages. Now there's only one single template that produces the whole text block with table, hidden rules and stuff.

It takes exactly the same parameters as the templates before.

You may want to copy this into your template for new Championship, R&D and other event pages.

    Example:

    {{box tips
      |tech = meia
      |engine = v12
      |class = a
    }}

    gives:

[Er—code doesn't work properly on message walls.] :D

See it in action on the Regera R&D page or any other event page; I've replaced all instances of the old templates.

    • It's just reveal or show the cards. That's as concise as it gets.

    • So "reveal" works, thanks!

  • I WKPQ,

I've noticed that there were a lot of extra ad cards in the box data you posted on May 4. Do you play on several devices? If not, the data must have been gathered during several days. It would be cool if you provided the box opening dates in the future. This time it wasn't critical because it was apparently all during the Equus Bass Championship and no drop rates were changed by GL during that time. But generally I need the dates to see what GL is doing in the background.

Anyway, thanks for your the huge amount of data you collect, this helps a lot!

    • Yes, the data was collected between April 18 - May 2.

      Thanks & you're welcome.

    • This means that the Equus Bass Championship wasn't active all the time. I think I can exclude your data for date and time analyses; for every other purpose it's valid.

I've posted a guide for adding data here.

  • Hi WKPQ,

is it possible that most of the over 1,000 comments got lost when you moved the Update pages to subpages of Asphalt 8: Airborne? I just followed a link to a comment about 2 instead of 3 Finish Line Boxes, but the (new) Fast Lane Update page only has 52 comments.

There are other reasons why I (personally) am against subpages:

    • E-Mail notifications show text like: "People are talking about Asphalt 8: Airborne/..." with long (and cut) text that lacks the most important part.
    • Page titles become long and difficult to read. The most important part comes at the end.
    • Search results are very difficult to read.
    • Category indices become useless. For example, all Asphalt 8 updates are sorted under A.
    • Subpages in the main (article) namespace are against common Wikipedia practice (we do not have to cling to their rules, but on their site, subfolders in article namespace are disabled for the above-mentioned reasons).

I didn't object when you moved the update pages because I wanted to wait and watch how it turned out. But to me, the update subpages only have disadvantages and I strongly recommend moving them back to their own pages. I would even give all Championship and R&D articles their own pages instead of subfolders. To my mind, clear page name and categorization rules will work a lot better than subfolders.

    • I've also noticed the incorrect counter.

I'm looking at the 2018 Summer Update page and there's now a lot of redirects made in your name.

I'm thinking of manually moving those that the bot missed in a day or so, and if its ok with you, delete that page. Same goes for the non redirected 2019 Spring Update page.

Again, apologies for causing unnecessary work.

    • Be careful when deleting pages: You'll produce a lot of red links you'll have to change manually afterwards: WhatLinksHere. But perhaps that's not a bad idea because the correcting the backlinks on the pages linking to the old name "2018 Summer Update" will result in a consistent naming on the wiki.

      "in a day or so"

Yes, wait at least 24 hours. I've noticed that the counter on the old 2018 Spring Update has changed again. I think there are still some stacks being processed in the background that we can't influence. I know that from some of my cagetorization work. You can forcce a lot by adding ?action=purge to a page address, but not everything.

"Again, apologies for causing unnecessary work."

Who could have known that this bot has a hiccup? I still don't trust it. As user-friendly as the comment feature is, it's kind of obscure because it hides the real structure beneath the surface.

    • MSN & Xbox should be different. I don't play on Windows.

You should contact customer care again.
