The Peugeot Onyx is a concept car by Peugeot that appears in the Asphalt series. Recently, as Onyx reminds a concept car only, they've let the copper color, as it is copper, oxidize into the light turquoise. Combined with the carbon fiber it makes the Onyx a light weight car. Peugeot boasts a carbon fiber structure that consists of only 12 components as weighs only 220 pounds with the car weighing a total 2,400 pounds. The car also has built-in Lithium-ion batteries to power an 80 hp electric motor. Twin NACA ( National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics ) ducts provide airflow to the engine and the car uses a power train and suspension from Peugeot Sport, once responsible for the now defunct Le Mans racing program. An active rear spoiler similar to the Bugatti Veryon is used in assisting with deceleration.
Overview
Asphalt 8: Airborne
The Onyx has a starting rank of 1506 (same as the RUF CTR 3 also in Class S) and a maxed rank of 1656. The Onyx runs on a V8 engine, and it has the same in-game engine sound as the McLaren P1 and SSC Tuatara. Considering Gameloft's tuning of concept cars, the Peugeot Onyx has been tuned for the better. While having a relatively slow acceleration and a moderate nitro boost, the Onyx excels in top speed. The Onyx's biggest advantage is its handling, the second smoothest of any car in the game, only beaten by the Mercedes-Benz Biome.
The Peugeot Onyx costs 1,153,950 to max out. Unlike most other Class S cars in the game, the Onyx can be purchased from the Pole Position Pack alongside the Maserati MC12, but with the Decal Update you can buy it with 6,400.
The Peugeot Onyx's competitors are the Ferrari LaFerrari, Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, McLaren P1 and the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Therefore, the Peugeot Onyx is considered as a hyper car.
