The Police or Cops are a form of Law Enforcement that pose as a opponent to the player in the Asphalt series, being a recurring feature since the mobile version of Asphalt Urban GT. With Asphalt 5 being the previous last game to feature Police chases (The java versions of Asphalt 6: Adrenaline and Asphalt Nitro however did feature the Police chasing the player.) Asphalt 9: Legends brought back Police chases along with a new mode; Hunted.
In most of the Asphalt games to feature law enforcement, the police will begin chase to the player after they do a number of illegal actions, the more chaos the player creates, the more the number of law enforcement will attempt to Wreck and Arrest the player. In most games, the police may request a support helicopter to begin chase to the player.
In some games, the player can play as a cop in attempt to arrest the suspect in first place, or arrest a specific number of suspects as seen on Asphalt Nitro's Catch game style.
In some games, it's possible to pick up a special item that clears off the player's wanted meter.
Behaviour[]
Asphalt Urban GT (Mobile version)[]
The police did not appear in the DS version, but it does feature a game mode where the player could play as a police officer driving a special Police Lamborghini Gallardo. The mobile version however does features police chases for the first time in the series, in this version the player will gain a Wanted level based on stars, similiarly to the Grand Theft Auto games. The maximum limit of stars is five, in order to gain police stars the player is required to drive recklessly, or hit opponent and civilian's cars. In some cases its possible to gain a wanted level if a police radar spots the player at high speeds thus beginning chase to the player imediately, before this happens a radar warning will be shown in the screen alerting the player to drive slowly. After gaining three wanted stars the police will begin to place spike strips around the track, if the player collides with these they will be wrecked, but not arrested. After gaining four or five stars a police helicopter will begin chase to the player, in attempt to arrest the player using electrical "harpoons" or discharges. (Possibly inspired by the police helicopter harpoon scene from 2Fast2Furious.) the only way to avoid this is by either steering the car or using a nitro, going under tunnels will also stop the helicopter temporarily.
Asphalt Urban GT 2[]
The police makes its appearance on all versions of Asphalt Urban GT 2, similiarly to the previous mobile depiction. They will begin chase to the player either if they create too much havoc on the track or they are spotted by a police radar, this time however the police won't place spike strips around the track, but they will create roadblocks. The police helicopter's attack was kept on the mobile versions of the game.
The wanted stars rating was replaced with a meter reading Wanted, in order to avoid similiarity with the GTA games.
Asphalt 3: Street Rules / Asphalt 4: Elite Racing / Asphalt 5[]
The police appears on all these games on all the platforms, however the police is now less capable than before. They will chase and place roadblocks on the road in attempt to arrest the player, however the police helicopter is replaced with a news chopper commenting on the player's actions.
In Asphalt 5, the wanted meter from Asphalt Urban GT's mobile version was brought back, the more stars the player has, higher levels of law enforcement will attempt to take down the player. These include the SWAT and FBI.
Asphalt 6: Adrenaline[]
The police only appear in the J2ME version of the game. Their behaviour is largely similar to Asphalt 4 and use police versions of drivable cars.
Asphalt Nitro[]
The police appears in the Catch race type, where you play as the cop and have to take down the rest of the racers before they finish the race. the car is equipped with a "EMP" (electromagnetic pulse) that can be used to knockdown the racers.
The police is also available in the J2ME version, although it re-uses the same mechanics as in the Asphalt 6 version, and doesn't includes the Catch race type.
Asphalt Overdrive[]

Asphalt 9: Legends[]
The police makes its appearence once again on Asphalt 9, this time being part of the Hunted race type, they will also appear on Classic race types in some occasions. The police can create roadblocks in order to wreck and arrest the player, police vehicles will also attempt to take the player off the road. They appear mainly in the aforementioned race type, if the player is wrecked or they run out of time they will be busted and the race will be lost.
Asphalt Security[]
Prior to the Summer Update, a new police team was introduced. Called "Asphalt Security", it was featured in a video and a livestream, although the livestream then got "hacked" by the Blue Rabbit, which then came with the "#Whoisthebluerabbit" hashtag and the "Hack-A-Thon" Event, which promoted the Drive Syndicate Event that came in said update.
Lately, the Asphalt Security has been getting mentioned in the posts of "Hacking Measures & Fair Play Rules" reporting the ammount of Cheaters that have been banned from the game.
As a reskin of regular police units, Asphalt Security can appear in game modes that the police can appear in.
The Mysterious Organization is a Organization replaces the Asphalt Security in the Asphalt 9: Legends China. Due to the Chinese laws, the police can't be on a negative side, or there should not be any police chases in game, so the Asphalt Security is reskined and renamed into a Mysterious Organization called Mysterious Organization. its place in the game looks like a Mafia or something. Expect skins and the name, it has no differences between the Asphalt Security.
Bring the Heat Update[]
Several Asphalt Security units was added in Bring the Heat Update and can be driven by the player.
Due to the Asphalt Security being unable to stop the crimes caused by Blue Rabbit, they pull out a retiree to return as an undercover cop to help them infiltrate the organization. The retiree is coerced into cooperating with the threat of dire consequences if they fail.
Playable Asphalt Security units in the Drive Syndicate 5 special event are equipped with special nitro that have very short duration but high performance. Furthermore, these special units can also block other cars when the nitro bar turns red and any cars hit will instantly crash.
Catching some drivers of the Blue Rabbit opens a way for the undercover cop to enter their organization. Asphalt Security also helps the player with an undercover asset, a Bugatti Centodieci.
After enough reputation has been earned, the Blue Rabbit contacts the player to test a route that Asphalt Security are unware of. For the cover not to be blown, the player is given a Security Interceptor to apprehend multiple drivers.
With the damage caused by this undercover cop, the syndicate raised their efforts into investigating who was responsible.
The undercover cop then contacts the controller for some help, with the controller sending some "cyber geeks" to help cover up the issue while the cop is ordered to keep a low profile.
