Trivia[]
- General
- In a similar manner to the Mercedes-AMG GT3, the Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach Package appears in Asphalt 8: Airborne while both cars' base models (Mercedes-AMG GT and Porsche 918 Spyder, respectively) appear in Asphalt Street Storm Racing.
- This is changed in Asphalt 9: Legends, with the AMG GT S and 918 w/ Weissach appearing in the game.
- The Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach Package in the game wears a racing number of 3, the same one worn by the pre-production 918 Spyder prototype with license plates reading "S GO 9184" and a Pure White body color with a red Salzburg livery.
- The 918 Spyder w/ Weissach in-game has the Salzburg livery in all its colors in game, despite that in real life, where it is only available in Pure White.
- Just like with the McLaren P1™ GTR and McLaren 650S GT3, the 918 Spyder with Weissach Package wears the same racing number regardless of the color selected.
- It is the only Porsche model to be an Elite Vehicle.
- It is also the second Class S car to be an Enduro Double Down boss car and an Elite Car at the same time, after the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV. Coincidentally, both are mid-engined cars that are AWD.
- Both cars also have a speed multiplier of 100.00%.
- Similar to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition, the 918 Spyder w/ Weissach still has the rims from the standard 918.
- The 918 is the last Elite Vehicle added to the game in 2017.
- It is also the second Class S car to be an Enduro Double Down boss car and an Elite Car at the same time, after the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV. Coincidentally, both are mid-engined cars that are AWD.
- The 918 Spyder w/ Weissach is currently the only Porsche car in the game whose Blueprints are Rare instead of Common.
- The 918 Spyder w/ Weissach is tied with the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition for having the second longest car name (including manufacturer and spaces) in the game, with 40 characters, behind the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Coupé Final Edition's 45 characters.
- The 918 Spyder w/ Weissach is the first Enduro Double Down-unlockable car to not use any preexisting engine card for its Pro Kits; instead, it uses the Exceptional Engine card that was introduced in its debut update.
- The 918 Spyder w/ Weissach appears on the icon for the Porsche Update.
- It is the first Elite Car to appear on an icon for Asphalt 8: Airborne, as well as the first Enduro Double Down boss car to appear on an icon for the game.
- In a similar manner as the Peugeot SR1 and the Sbarro Sparta, the Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach Package used the Mercedes-Benz Silver Lightning engine note despite using a high-revving, naturally aspirated 4.6 L V8 engine paired with two electric motors.
- While it could be assumed that the 918 is put into electric-only mode, this would be impossible given that the 918's full performance only shows itself when the car operates on hybrid mode (both the V8 engine and electric motors activated simultaneously).
- Just like the Sparta, the 918's sound is played like that of a regular car (with an actual gearbox).
- With the Motorcycles Update, the 918 now uses the "Corvette_V8" engine but with instantaneous and constant redlining. However, it has a high pitch and in order to hear it, the SFX and Music options have to be set to 0% and Engine to 100%, and device volume must be set above 30%.
- In real life, the Porsche 918 Spyder would closely match the Ferrari 458 Italia's sound, so the Ferrari 458 V8 engine note would be the best fit.
- The 918 Spyder w/ Weissach in the game appears with a carbon black roof and a carbon black rear wing regardless of the color option selected.
- Similar to other cars that use active aerodynamics, the 918's active rear wing remains permanently retracted due to game limitations.
- The 918 Spyder w/ Weissach is the third Enduro Double Down boss car to have its EDD banner set in Tenerife, after the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV and Aston Martin One-77.
- In the first few hours of the EDD, due to a glitch, the Elite Tuning was removed from the car. It was eventually placed back.
- The 918 Spyder w/ Weissach lacks the E-Power cap on the right side of the car.
- It is possible that the 918 with Weissach Package was originally meant to use Hybrid Engines for its Pro Kits as its EDD Advanced Box claims to give out Hybrid Engines instead of Exceptional Engines.
- The Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach Package's tire is shown on the play button.
- In the French version of the game, instead of the name "Porsche 918 Spyder avec Pack Weissach", its name in English is used instead.
- While the 918 always has Acid Green colored brake calipers, the Play button instead shows red brake calipers.
- Any race & pre-race cutscene with a 918 will show it as having no brake calipers, with only the brake discs present.
- Despite retaining the carbon fibre roof, rear wing, mirrors, front window frame, and rear diffuser, the 918 Spyder in this game lacks the Salzburg livery and retains the rims of the standard 918. However, some 918 Weissachs do have 918 rims.
- When interacting with the 918 Spyder in the garage, the rear wing cannot be raised on command, but it can be seen raised in Asphalt 9's Car Showcase Trailer. This was eventually patched to make the wing interactable.
- The omission of "Weissach Package" from the name is presumably due to the limited space for the car's name in the garage.
- When wrecked in a race, several body panels appear to open (including the front bumper, bonnet and rear spoiler) but do not detach. This contrasts its Asphalt 8 counterpart where the car isn't visually damaged when wrecked.
