The Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4's Research & Development event was released as part of the Holiday Update on December 21 2018.

There are 4 Labs spanning a total of 60 Tests with a time limit of 12 days once the event is started. This event has a unique Winter theme and requires up to  250 for Proto Key refills.

R&D Basic Kit Box R&D Basic Kit Box R&D Advanced Kit Box R&D Advanced Kit Box R&D Professional Kit Box During the event, players are also offered a purchasable Mini Box: R&D Mini Kit Box † Unlike the 2018 McLaren X2 Championship Mini Box which granted almost no engine card at all, this box seems to grant at least 1 V12 MPI Engine in almost every box.

• While the official drop rate of 45% for legendary items is correct, the probabilities for V12 MPI EEnginesand Advanced Tech are not equal.
• The probability of getting at least 1 V12 MPI Engine seems to be around 90%.

Tips / Warnings

• The minimum tune required to complete the event is [MMMM PPPP]. This requires  ? +  ? and X V12 MPI Engines.
• Because this R&D is based on the ones for the Arash AF10 (see here), Pagani Huayra BC (see here), and Apollo Intensa Emozione (see here), many of the same general tips and warnings for these events also apply here.
• As there are no free upgrades in this event, the Extra Horses, Glimpse into the Future, New Wave, Retro and Off the Charts collections should be completed to upgrade the Centenario. A total of 22 Class S free upgrades can be obtained from the 5 collections for the Centenario's 8 TOUs.
  • Glimpse into the Future is the cheapest to complete (even with the McLaren P1™'s increased price) and gives 4 upgrades to cover the Centenario's Level 4 and Level 5 upgrades for top speed and nitro.
    • Buying the P1™ costs  2,100 but completing the collection saves  6,700.
    • The other collections require either Blueprints, , or significantly higher upgrade costs.

Trivia

• This is one of three R&D events released in 2018 to have 60 Tests and 4 Labs, with the other two being the ones for the Apollo IE and Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR (see here).
• Unlike other R&Ds, the Centenario's R&D event gives out an R&D Professional Kit Box at the beginning of the R&D instead of towards the end. This is similar to pre-Halloween Update Championship events giving out a Championship Professional Box after obtaining the first two Trophies.
• The Centenario's R&D event is notable for the following firsts:
  • The first where no Free Upgrades are awarded.
  • The first to feature the R&D Mini Box (purchasable for  300), which is similar to the Championship Mini Box used in the 2018 McLaren X2's Championship event.
  • The first to feature a Flawless race in the first Lab.
• Despite having a Winter theme, the Centenario's R&D promo ad is not shown with the Winter theme.
