The RUF Rt 12 S is a rear-engined, Porsche 911 (997)-based supercar that is a higher-end version of the RUF Rt 12.
Description[]
The RUF Rt 12 S, based on the Porsche 911 Turbo S (997), is a rear-engined supercar that is powered by a 3.6L (3,600 cc) twin-turbocharged boxer-6 Porsche M96/70S engine. The engine produces 676 hp (504 kW) and 649 ft·lb (880 N·m) of torque. The RUF Rt 12 S has its engine placed in the rear and has its power delivered to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
The Rt 12 S has a RUF-designed rollcage integrated in the ceiling as standard. On the front of the car, there are separate LED alternative lights for the position light and turn signals. At the rear, a carbon rear wing with air ducts which are integrated into the widened rear fenders complete the RT 12 S's appearance, along with exterior mirrors from the RUF CTR 3.
The Rt 12 S has forged 19 inch light alloy wheels in the front and in the rear. Behind them, it is possible to see the ceramic brake discs of this high performance brake system. The chassis and the aerodynamics are tuned to a maximum speed of 224 mph (360 km/h). Optionally, RUF can deliver a height adjustable front axle which hydraulically offers 50 mm more chassis clearance by pushing a button for passing basement garages and higher curbs easily.

Performance[]
The RT 12 S could be described as a downgraded Class A version of its Class S cousin, the RUF CTR 3, though it strangely had a higher purchase price than the CTR 3. Compared to the CTR 3, the RT 12 S featured slightly lower acceleration, handling, drifting, and nitro statistics. The RT 12 S also had a worse nitro efficiency and an identical raw top speed statistic when compared to the CTR 3. Unlike the CTR 3, the RT 12 S didn’t have a negative Speed Modifier.
Compared to other Class A cars, the RT 12 S was an underperformer. It had high raw top speed and total top speed, but this was offset by its low Tuning Kit bonus. Other flaws of the RT 12 S included extremely poor nitro efficiency (10/15/20) and acceleration statistics. The RT 12 S couldn’t compete with the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, just as the RUF CTR 3 couldn’t compete with the Lamborghini Veneno.
The only feature of the RT 12 S that stood out, apart from its high raw top speed, was is its very good handling, which was similar to but slightly inferior to the CTR 3's handling. However, the RT 12 S' drifting was inferior to the CTR 3's drifting.
Usage[]
The RT 12 S was an underperformer in both Multiplayer and Time-Limited Events, as its slow acceleration made it very vulnerable to knockdowns at the start of races. However, it's high top speed would’ve proven useful in long tracks, such as Tokyo.
The RT 12 S was only useful for Career Mode, as a source of and as a source of a Free Class A Upgrade from its tenth Mastery challenge. The RT 12 S was found in 2 collections: Euro Aces and German Steel. The Munich Update removed both RUFs from the collections for completion as the Porsche Update removed all Porsche-based cars.
Price[]
- Main article: Licensing Issues (Asphalt series)
The RT 12 S used to cost 275,000 to purchase.
Prior to the Gangstar Season Update, upgrades cost 2,400,000 while upgrades require 15 of each Rare Drivetrain, Rare Exhaust, Rare Suspension, Rare Tires, 60 Rare Engine, 60 Rare Tech and 2,976,000
Between the Gangstar Season Update and its removal in the 2023 Summer Update, upgrades required 55 each of Rare Tires, Rare Suspension, Rare Drivetrain, and Rare Exhaust, 60 Rare Tech, 60 Rare Engine, 160 Ruf Rt 12 S Kit and 8,000,000.
After the Porsche Update, the RT 12 S was no longer available for purchase. Prior to the aforementioned update, the RT 12 S and all other Porsche-derived cars were given away via multi-stage TLEs (Multi-events).
As of the 2023 Summer Update, the RT 12 S, along with the RUF CTR 3, were permanently removed from the game, even for players who already owned them.
Asphalt 7: Heat[]
The RUF RT 12 S (RUF Rt 12 S) is the only Tier 7 vehicle available by default.
Being the starter car of the tier, the RT 12 S has low stats across the board compared to the rest of its Tier. The RT 12 S is a top-speed focused vehicle; it has a higher top speed than the other early Tier 7 cars, the Ferrari 288 GTO and Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, but suffers from weak nitro power, as it has the same total speed as the Aventador despite its top speed advantage. However, it has better nitro efficiency than the Aventador, at 1.30% (versus 1.20% of the Aventador). Regarding its other stats, the RT 12 S has weak launch, acceleration and moderate handling and drifting radius. With poor launch, nitro power and acceleration, the RT 12 S struggles to get to top speed, but thanks to its top speed and nitro efficiency, it is rather adept in keeping momentum once it gets up to speed. However, among Tier 7 cars in general, the RT 12 S only has one strength, which is nitro efficiency; relative to other cars in its tier, it has average handling and drifting radius, below average top speed, and abysmal nitro power and total speed.
As the starter car of the tier, the RT 12 S is only useful in Career Mode until the Pagani Huayra is unlocked; it is not powerful enough for later Career Mode races, and it is a wiser choice to save up and get a faster car at this point than to upgrade the RT 12 S. It has no merit to be used in any other mode like Multiplayer due to its lack of strengths over its starter-car competition or any other Tier 7 cars in general; while being a top speed-focused car, most other Tier 7 cars, like the Pagani Huayra, can easily beat it in terms of pure speed alone, not to mention other fields like nitro power, nitro speed or acceleration. Its weak acceleration means even some faster Tier 6 cars like the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 can beat it in terms of acceleration, and its low total speed, comparable to high-end Tier 6 cars, means the RT 12 S may not be able to catch them once they pull away. The RT 12 S' inability to beat Tier 6 cars disqualifies any hopes of being viable in racing its own tier, which is much faster in comparison.
That being said, the RT 12 S does have some use in Career Mode as its starter car competition, the Aventador and the 288 GTO, doesn't bring much to the table besides acceleration either; some may consider their benefits in acceleration over that of the RT 12 S to be not worth the money spent.
