In 2008, Sbarro revived their Alcador title for a new supercar based on the Ferrari 360. It followed three Alcador roadsters which were first seen at 1995 Geneva Auto Show.
Called the Alcador GTB, the design was commissioned by the Lienhard family which owns and operates the Lista Office design firm. Their first car was based on a 512TR and called the LO-GT. In 2008 an updated version was released on the Ferrari 360 Platform and released at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show.
A 2009 version was also added to lineup painted in dark blue. This appeared with 'Alcador GTB' license plates at Geneva and was later seen with Ferrari badges and renamed the LO presumably by the Lienhard family.
The Sbarro Alcador GTB uses a 3.6 L (3,586 cc) V8 from the Ferrari 360 Modena, with 394 hp (294 kW) and 275 ft·lb (373 N·m) of torque. This allows the Alcador a top speed of 193 mph (310 km/h) and 0 - 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4 seconds.
The Sbarro Alcador was added in the Lunar New Year Update as a mid Class A car with the following statistics:
- Starting rank: 1321
- MAX rank: 1601 (+280)
- MAX+PRO rank: 1760 (+159)
- Tuning Kit bonus: +53
- Stock to MAX+PRO rank difference: 439
- Upgrade rank percentages: 5/55/5/35
- Nitro Efficiency: 7/12/17
The Sbarro Alcador has poor performance and is regarded as one of the worst cars in the entire game. Acceleration is slow despite having a nitro stat and nitro efficiency equal to the Geely GC9 and Jaguar C-X75. The Alcador's top speed stat is similarly sub-par, only almost equivalent to the RUF RT 12 S and RUF CTR 3 at MAX+PRO with a Tuning Kit. Furthermore, the Alcador's biggest disadvantage is its very wide drifting radius of 32.8, which is wider than most cars in its rank range. With this, despite what the Alcador's rank suggests, it cannot compete with the McLaren 675LT, Mosler GT3, Ferrari 330 P4, or even the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe Touring Car 2014, Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition, and Lamborghini Egoista due to its many disadvantages.
The Alcador has a total speed of 299.1 mph/481.5 km/h, identical to the Mosler GT3, TVR Sagaris Special Edition, and Bentley EXP10 Speed 6. The Sbarro Alcador can basically be described as an upgraded Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Coupé Final Edition with a larger nitro stat.
Due to its many shortcomings in its performance, the Alcador is highly not recommended outside of the Sbarro Sparta's Enduro Double Down event. In Multiplayer, despite its tuning potential, including an upgrade configuration of 0400 5050 which gives a total speed of 270.0 mph/434.8 km/h at rank A1525, it has nowhere near the same level of competitiveness as the McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 and BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage.
Other upgrade configurations of 0400 1030 (254.2 mph/409.3 km/h @ A1459), 0502 5051 (283.1 mph/455.8 km/h @ A1599), and 0505 5050 (291.3 mph/469.1 km/h @ A1669) do not do the Alcador a lot of justice, either, again due to its poor overall performance. This is worsened by the presence of cars like the Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition, Apollo Intensa Emozione, Arrinera Hussarya GT, and Porsche Carrera GT.
Coupled with these shortcomings and large number of blueprints required to assemble (95), assembly of this car should be performed only when all other Common-rarity Blueprint vehicles have been assembled or obtained through other means (e.g. purchase before BP conversion, obtain through Events). However, the only remaining niche of the Alcador is its usability as a Credits-farming car in Car Mastery: its 15th Mastery Challenge, a Flawless race set in San Diego Harbor, earns an average of 5,900 in an average race time of 55 seconds. Without Double Credits and VIP Bonuses, approximately 293,000 can be earned in an hour. Even then, the Lamborghini Veneno is a better and cheaper choice despite being purchasable only for 1,100 as of March 23, 2018.
As of the Fast Lane Update, the Sbarro Alcador's usefulness has been reduced even further with the removal of the ability to replay Car Mastery races, as well as the reduction of base Credit payouts in Car Mastery.
Prior to the Lunar New Year 2017 Update, the Sbarro Alcador was priced at 1,350,000 for purchase. Its price was later changed to 7,125. As of the Car Blueprints Update, the Sbarro Alcador requires 95 Blueprints. Assembly takes 4 hours but can be skipped for up to 262.
As of the 2019 Spring Update, upgrades cost 2,430,000 while Pro Kits require 809,600, 30 of each Class A Part, 16 Early & Initial Techs each, 32 Mid-Techs, 16 Advanced Techs, and 56 V8 Engines.
As of the 2019 Halloween Update, the car no longer requires Blueprints to be assembled, and has a full purchase price of 4,700.
It was the 9th car to be released as a Multiplayer League reward and is part of the 9th Multiplayer Season, Garden Season, which started on May 11, 2017. All players who participate in the Garden Season receive Sbarro Alcador BP Boxes at the end of the season, with Elite League players getting all 95 BPs. The Alcador is also part of the nineteenth Multiplayer Season, Frostbite Season 2, which started on February 15, 2018.
Prior to the Lunar New Year 2017 Update, the Sbarro Alcador had always been available for purchase since March 4, 2016. It was changed into a time-limited car, available only for purchase between February 19-26, 2017, before being made permanent on April 7, 2017.
