The TVR Sagaris Special Edition's Research & Development event was launched on February 1, 2019, after the Ducati XDiavel S' R&D. There are 4 labs spanning a total of 60 tests that must be completed within 12 days once the challenge is started.

The labs will unlock in the following schedule:

• Lab 002: 2 days later or pay  800
• Lab 003: 5 days later or pay  800
• Lab 004: 8 days later or pay  800

Tips / Warnings

• The minimum upgrade setup required to complete the event is [5555 5050]. This requires  1,740,000 +  5,630 and 28 i6 Engines.
  • An alternate tune is [3503 5050], which requires  630,000 +  3,695 less but the player has to use boosters for all tests as an added precaution. A higher level of skill is also required to effectively beat the AI with this tune.
    • As the event gives 18 i6 Engines, at least 10 have to be obtained by other means.
    • Players with unopened boxes from the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage's event can open them to procure Pro Kit cards for the Sagaris SE, including i6 Engines.
    • The player must avoid updating to the Fast Lane Update if the player wishes to complete the R&D event without auto-passing the final Ultimate AI Challenge.
• As there are no free upgrades in this event, the Ferrari, Drive in Style and Chevrolet collections should be completed to upgrade the Sagaris SE. A total of 15 Class A free upgrades can be obtained from the 3 collections for the Sagaris SE's TOUs.
  • Car Mastery also has 15 Class A free upgrades (assuming that the player did not update to the Fast Lane Update). See this page for the full list.
  • The Chevrolet collection is the cheapest collection to complete, as the collection does not require cars that can only be purchased with or have to be assembled with Blueprints.
  • The Chevrolet collection gives 4 free Class A upgrades for completing the collection, which requires  3,086,750 to max out all the four required cars.
• As of the 2019 Spring Update, the TVR Sagaris Special Edition no longer has Token-only upgrades.
• As this R&D is very similar to the one for the Apollo Intensa Emozione, many of the same tips and warnings for that event also apply here.
• Due to the higher-than-usual number of Flawless races in this R&D event, as well as the event's harder main goals and sub-goals, caution should be exercised when attempting a test.

Trivia

• The TVR Sagaris SE R&D event is the first Special Event to feature Transylvania.
• While based on the Apollo IE's R&D, it does have a slight difference with the penultimate Ultimate AI Challenge being moved two tests back to Test .050. instead of being at Test .052.
  • This could be a leftover from when this R&D was planned to have 50 tests, as tests .046. and .047. are both very similar to tests 46 and 47 of the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage's R&D.
  • This mirrors the Renault Alpine Celebration's event being based on the one for the ED Design Torq (both with 50 Tests and 4 Labs) but with the penultimate Ultimate AI Challenge being at Test .043. instead of Test .044.
