The Cadillac Sixteen concept car, also known as the Cadillac 16 Concept, is a full-size four-door luxury concept developed and presented by Cadillac in 2003.
Description[]
- Text originally from the Cadillac Sixteen's Wikipedia page.
The Cadillac Sixteen is equipped with a Cadillac proprietary-developed 32-valve V16 engine displacing 13.6 liters (~830 cu. in), which was exclusive to the Sixteen model only, it is mated to a four-speed, electronically controlled, automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The engine features fuel-saving Active Fuel Management "Displacement on Demand" technology, much improved from its notorious ancestor, debuting in 2004 on some 2005 GM models. On the Sixteen, it would seamlessly shut down twelve cylinders in light driving, eight during strenuous driving, and only awaken the entire engine under full acceleration. With this type of system, the engine was capable of 16.65 mpg under normal conditions. The naturally aspirated engine was said to produce a minimum of 1,000 horsepower (1,014 PS; 750 kW) and at least an equal amount of torque at 1,000 lb-ft (1,356 Nm). The car itself weighs 5,005 lbs (2,270 kg).
The car referenced the Cadillac V-16 of the 1930s. The actual design of the car was a combination of Cadillac's current "Art and Science" design theme and 1967 Cadillac Eldorado cues. Additional original design elements were provided by an in-house design competition led by GM Vice President Bob Lutz. The Sixteen has the Cadillac logo carved out of solid crystal on the steering wheel and a Bulgari clock on the dashboard.
Although the Sixteen remained a concept car, its design language was implemented in Cadillac's subsequent vehicles, most noticeably on the 2008 Cadillac CTS. Since its unveiling there have been resurfacing rumors about a possible very limited production of an exclusive Cadillac halo model. A scaled-down version of the car, referred to as the ULS (Ultra Luxury Sedan) or XLS, with a standard V8 and an optional V12 (the latter was to be called the Cadillac Twelve), had been rumored for production since 2005, but was eventually shelved in favor of the Cadillac XTS.
Ever since the Sixteen was first unveiled there have been resurfacing rumors, speculation and high hopes of automotive journalists and aficionados about a possible very limited production of an exclusive Cadillac halo model such as the Sixteen as the "ultimate flagship" of the brand to sit even atop of the upcoming flagship, as previewed by the Ciel concept of late 2011.

Performance[]
v6.8[]
Although the Cadillac 16 Concept now has rapid acceleration in addition to its excellent nitro efficiency, it also retains its weak handling, though its drift radius is not as wide as it was in the past. In fact, the 16 is the fastest accelerating car in its class and rank bracket, having a 0.115 second lead in acceleration against the Ferrari Monza SP1 and 0.082 seconds against the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. Another advantage the Cadillac 16 has over its competitors is its excellent nitro efficiency; in fact, the 16's only real weakness is its weak handling.
Overall, the Cadillac 16 Concept can now be described as a king of its class and its rank bracket, competing with the Ferrari Monza SP1, Lamborghini Aventador, BMW M4 GTS, and Ferrari 812 Superfast.
v2.1 - v6.7[]
Being among one of the largest cars in the game along with the NanoFlowcell QUANT FE and Devel Sixteen Prototype, the Cadillac 16 Concept has among the worst handling stats and drifting capabilities in the game (only having better handling than the aforementioned vehicles); in fact, because of this and the fact that it already handles and drifts much worse than the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Coupé Final Edition, it has been given the nickname "The Boat" by the players. Additionally, it has among the worst acceleration and launch for its class, accelerating even slower than the McLaren 675LT. Its top speed and nitro stats aren't overly impressive either. However, it gains the advantage of having an unusually long-lasting nitro, equal to the Alfa Romeo 4C. Overall, the Cadillac 16 Concept is a car that only works on tracks without overly complex corners.
On long tracks, the Cadillac 16 Concept performs relatively well. However, once difficult corners start to appear, the 16 has a much higher chance of missing the corner or even wrecking easily. Again, this is due to its weak handling and large size.
Even with Car Mastery rewards giving out 18 Nitro Starters, 8 Tuning Kits, and 16 Extra Tanks, due to the Cadillac 16 Concept's mediocre all-round performance, it is nothing more than a collector's item. For that reason, it is almost never seen in Time-Limited Events or ranked multiplayer races.
