All of these cars are purchasable with tokens only or assembled with Blueprints.

The new cars will need the following engine cards:

  • High-Grade Engine
    • Porsche 959 (x16)
    • Porsche 718 Boxster S (x20)
    • Porsche Cayman GT4 (x24)
  • Exceptional Engine
    • Porsche 911 GT3 RS (x12)
    • Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach Package (x28)

Game Changes[]

  • Porsche Championship added. This is based on the previous McLaren Championship but with a different manufacturer and a lack of a leaderboard due to not being based on Formula One racing.
918 Button
  • Game menus have been streamlined and redesigned:
    • The lower right corner of the main menu now only has the "Play" button. Tapping on it will give the option for Career, Multiplayer, More Racing Options and Daily Tasks.
      • Tapping on any option now plays the sound effect used in Multiplayer or Enduro Double Down when a normal post-race decision is made.
      • The "Play" button shows a Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach Package by its wheels and plays a sound effect that contains the "Audi R8 V10" engine note.
    • The tab at the lower left corner of the main menu is now dedicated to Shop-related items and the offer for Tokens 2 from watching an Ad has been removed.
      • This tab also no longer shows Recommended Cars.
    • Pro Boxes are now in a rectangular box and scrolled through horizontally in the same layout as the one used in Asphalt Xtreme.
      • This allows for multiple limited offer Pro Boxes to be available without replacing any of the original 4.
      • Pro Boxes now also use Asphalt Xtreme's sorting method by card type rather than showing every duplicate card. Cards now have "x" on the bottom right corner if more than one of that card was given.
A8High-GradeEngine
A8ExceptionalEngine
  • New Engine Cards added: High-Grade Engine and Exceptional Engine (both pictured).
    • These cards are based on the F6 Engine's design but with the Porsche logo shield in place of "F6".
  • Car Search Filters added.
    • It is now possible to search for any car by alphabetic order, limited offer sales, Blueprint status and by cars the player already owns.
  • The "My Profile" menu has been reorganized: VIP status and bonuses have to be checked here, along with medals and achievements all at once.
    • The top menu bar no longer shows the player's VIP status.
  • New Collections "Bolides" and "Porsche" added.
  • The following cars are now Blueprint buildable:
  • The following cars have had their prices changed:
    • Acura NSX 2005: Tokens 525Credits 90,000 or Tokens 525
    • Chevrolet 2016 Camaro SS: Tokens 6,250Credits 1,950,000 or Tokens 6,250
    • Ferrari Enzo Ferrari: Credits 3,150,000 or Tokens 14,975Tokens 14,975
    • Lucra L148: Credits 400,000Tokens 2,725
    • Mazzanti Evantra: Tokens 3,250Credits 900,000 or Tokens 3,250
    • Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe: Tokens 1,100Credits 240,000 or Tokens 1,100
      • Players wanting to buy these cars must reconsider their decision, as there are players who have been banned simply for buying these cars with credits (except the Enzo, which already could be purchasable with credits even as far back as 2015, albeit for Credits 3,500,000). This change is available for iOS players only.
  • The McLaren MP4-31 now correctly uses Pirelli tires like it previously did in its Championship promo ad. The in-game MP4-31 uses a yellow tire wall (indicating soft compound tires), true to real life.
  • The logo for Cadillac has been updated.
  • The car showcased in the main menu is now based on the most expensive / newest car that the player can get with the caption: "Get X now! / Championship Reward / R&D Reward / Enduro Reward / Special Offer. Tap to check it".
    • The last car used is still shown if the player views an event and goes back to the main event screen.
  • 12 new events for McLaren Legends Season.
  • The Season 9 race for the McLaren MP4-31 is now between the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport and Porsche 959 while the Lotus Evora Sport 410's race is now between the Ferrari GTC4Lusso and SIN R1.
  • The pop-up progress bar for Blueprint-assemblable cars no longer shows up if the player already has the car.
Impala BP Ad Promo
  • Video offers now have 1967 Chevrolet Impala blueprints as a limited-time reward.
  • New loading screen of a Porsche 911 GT3 RS and a Porsche Cayman GT4 on Patagonia.
911 GT3 RS and Cayman GT4 LS
A8A Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X stock
  • It is now possible to preview cars in IAP car packs. When previewing them, it is possible to view their stock stats (with Elite Tuning if applicable), but the Tuning and Car Paint/View tabs are grayed out.
  • Blueprints given by Daily Bonus now show blueprint cards in the login schedule. BP boxes are still added to the player's inventory.
  • The banners of Time-Limited Events now have a decreased quality, as they display the car and the environment at the low graphics setting. This change was made on August 1st, 2017.
  • In Rio de Janeiro, at the pre-countdown cinematic screens for Oceanview Derby, it is now possible to hear the sound of a cruise ship sounding off its horn. This sound effect was originally heard in Barcelona and Ipanema Showdown.
  • The RUF RT 12 S, RUF CTR 3, 9FF GT9 VMAX, and on some platforms, the Rinspeed zaZen are no longer available for purchase for players who do not have it.
    • The Euro Aces (RT 12S), German Steel (RUF cars), and Winter Came (9FF) collections are also now impossible to complete until the Munich Update.
    • Season 7 & 8 of Career Mode cannot be completed, rendering the achievements Lucky Number Seven and The Eighth Wonder becoming unobtainable until the Munich Update where the RUF RT 12 S & RUF CTR 3 are replaced by the Mazzanti Evantra & McLaren F1 XP-5 respectively.
    • The cars and career events together means that the achievements "A is for Awesome" (for RT 12 S), "S is for Superior" (for CTR 3), "King of the Garage" (RUF cars), "Fully Armed" (RUF cars), "Lucky Number Seven", "The Eighth Wonder", and especially "The Finish Line" are no longer obtainable.
      • This also poses a problem in the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport's EDD event, which features the VMAX; players should avoid its challenges at all costs.
      • In terms of Car Mastery Rewards, Licenses 129 (26 + 30 + 43 + 30), Credits 537,515 (142,220 + 153,045 + 161,515 + 80,735), Tokens 150, 4 Tuning Kits, 2 Extra Tanks, 1 Class A Free Upgrade, and 1 Class S Free Upgrade are now unobtainable.
    • However, for a limited time, the CTR 3 could still be purchased from the S-Class Car Pack, which cost Tokens 6,500 and included all 7 original Class S cars. The car pack was later removed from sale.
    • As of the Holiday Update, the achievements "A is for Awesome", "S is for Superior", "King of the Garage" and "Fully Armed" are now obtainable again.

  • Two rock pillars are added to further block the shortcut exploit used in two of The Great Wall tracks: Great Wall Reverse and Wall Ascent.
  • In the garage, blueprint-buildable cars now display the rarity of each car's blueprint card, shown by the color of the blueprint in the indicator.
    • The same now also applies to R&D, EDD, and Championship events involving Blueprints as rewards.
  • Exclusive Deals has been changed:
    • Most deals' prices have been reduced by up to 33.33%.
    • A fourth Exclusive Deal now shows up, and this deal costs Credits to buy.
  • The pre-race cinematics for San Diego Harbor Rev. now refer to the track as simply "San Diego".
    • The in-game name of "San Diego Harbor" as a track still remains intact.
  • Due to a partnership with Simple Mobile, there are now temporary scenery objects in the form of Simple Mobile advertisements in the following tracks:
  • The Chevrolet Corvette C3 was available for purchase during July 3-August 7, 2017.
  • The Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport was also made available for purchase until August 8, 2017.
  • The Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe Touring Car 2014's R&D has been changed so that the R&D boxes earned in that event now give out V8 Engine cards since the Touring Car 2014 no longer uses V6 Engine cards, but instead V8 Engine cards as of the Rio de Janeiro Update.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first update of the game to officially include Porsche cars.
    • This is also the first time that Porsche is actually featured in an Asphalt game as opposed to Porsche-based vehicles like the 9FF GT9 VMAX, Rinspeed zaZen, and the RUF cars. This is due to the expiration of Electronic Arts' exclusive contract with Porsche in December 2016, allowing Porsche cars to be used in games other than Need for Speed and Real Racing.
  • This update is the second update to add cars from just one manufacturer, after the Decals Update back in March 2015, which added five Ferrari cars: the 330 P4, 612 Scaglietti, Enzo Ferrari, F40, and F50.
  • This is also the first update to include a new Championship that doesn't involve a McLaren car.
  • The Bolides collection does not have a MAX Collection as it consists of McLaren Championship cars, none of which have a MAX rating.
    • This makes it the only collection not to have a MAX version.
  • The Porsche Update breaks the tradition of an update adding a Class A car which is faster than a Class S car added in the same update.
  • All of the cars in this update have unique nitro efficiency combinations, making this update the first update to include only cars that have such.
  • The Porsche Update marks the first update where all the cars added in the update are obtainable only through special events (e.g. R&D, EDD, Championship) or Blueprints.
    • It is also the second update to add only cars that cost only tokens to purchase.
  • This is the last update in a row in the game to include Elite cars, as the next update would buck that trend.
  • The Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach Package appears on the icon for this update.
  • From this update onwards, every vehicle added does not have selectable decals of any type.
  • It is stated that the Porsche "clones" (i.e. the RUFs, the zaZen, and VMAX) were removed from sale due to license obligations from Porsche, who does not want their "clone" vehicles appearing together in one game.

Bugs / Glitches[]

McLaren Championship Bug
  • McLaren Championship: Sometimes, during a Porsche Championship, the Porsche Championship would end up being replaced with the McLaren M14A's Championship. This bug was fixed in the Munich Update.
  • R&D Bugs:
    • On the post-race quality checks collected screen when the player replays a race in R&D, the progress bar now displays the total Quality Checks collected in the replayed race instead of all total Quality Checks accumulated.
      • While this is only a visual glitch as the game still counts all of the QC's for the test, it is recommended to first double check the QC count in the main R&D screen before attempting the test again.[1]
      • This bug was fixed in Motorcycles Update.
    • Another glitch has been introduced: for some reason, during the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe Touring Car 2014's R&D event, starting the event gave out the rewards for completing Test .050. in the ED Design Torq's R&D event.
      • This was later fixed with the R&D participation period being temporarily suspended, later followed by the recalling of the Torq from players who got the car by the glitch. Following the recalling of the Torq, the R&D participation banner was later reinstated for players who had yet to start the R&D beforehand.
    • In the R&Ds, the Free Upgrades lack the Class graphics when viewing them in the Rewards screen. When collecting them, though, the Class graphics sometimes correctly appear.
  • Android "Empty Data" update: 400mb of empty data was downloadable for Android and made the game unplayable. The only solution was to delete and reinstall the game. This was fixed in the Fall Out Boy Update. [2]
  • Windows Error Code (0x803F8001): On several version of Windows, the game would become unplayable and would not be downloadable from the Windows Store. It can be fixed by moving the game to the device memory, updating it and then moving it back to the SD card. Another possible solution is to create a new Windows account and download the game with the new account. [3] This was later fixed by Microsoft.
  • Unsavable ReplayKit Recording: For some reason, recordings done via ReplayKit cannot be saved due to the record icon not turning off even if the player tapped on the ReplayKit icon to stop the recording. The only fix is to restart the game.
    • Restarting the game, though, will result in the recording being permanently lost.
  • Underpriced Porsche Engine/Blueprint Card Resale Value: Strangely, despite being a Rare and Legendary rarity card, the High-Grade and Exceptional Engine cards would sell for only Credits 100, even lower than Common Rarity cards which are worth at least Credits 650. Blueprints for Porsche cars also suffered from this issue.
    • This was fixed on June 12, 2017 with engines and blueprints now being worth their proper values.
  • Visual Graphics Errors: There is an error when changing the in-game visual graphics. For example, if the visual graphics at default is set at high and is then changed to medium, the visual graphics will be automatically reverted back to default when the game is exited and re-entered.
    • This error has been fixed by an update patch on June 15th.
  • Missing text at Sky Drop: The word "TENERIFE" is now missing at the opening cinematic for the Sky Drop track, even outside of Multiplayer. This is an expansion of a pre-existing bug from the Santa's Gift Update.
  • Extended First-Person View Post-Race Camera: For some reason, in Tenerife, the last few camera angles shown after a race have been replaced with an extended first-person immersive camera view of Tenerife.
918WP No Brakes (1)
918WP No Brakes (2)
  • Missing Porsche 918 Brake Calipers: While the Garage will show the 918 Spyder with brake calipers, any race, including the pre-race cutscene, instead shows the 918 only with the brake discs.
  • The following bugs have been fixed:
    • Incorrectly Rendered Headlights
    • Missing/Misplaced Metal Effects
    • River Fort respawn glitch
