The Twelfth Anniversary Update is the 75th update of Asphalt 8: Airborne. As the title implies, the update celebrates 12 years since the game's initial release on August 22, 2013.

  • Car Hunt changes:
  • Car Hunt Coins Cup, Weekly Showdown Cup, Special Time-limited Event are now treated as "Special Event" in the Event Tab of the main menu, along with "Seasonal Events", such as Prop Hunt or Boss Battle.
  • Goals that can be done multiple times were introduced for Time-limited Events.
  • In Prop Hunt, a new counter was introduced indicating how many Props the player collected in a race.
  • On September 30, 2025, Gameloft announced on social media platforms that on the next update, the option to sync the data with a Facebook account is removed "due to an error". Instead, all data are now synced using a Discord account, in addition to the existing platform-specific account[1]. Players are advised to sync their progress to an existing account on the respective platform (i.e., Google Play+, Microsoft, Apple TV+, Apple Game Center) or a universal account (Discord) by October 10, 2025, as the update is scheduled to launch in mid-October, 2025.
    • This also means, to be able to transfer the progress to a device on a different platform, the player is now required to create a Discord account.
  • The Formula E Gen2 made a return in the 2025-10-10 Formula E Cup that was available between October 10 - 24, 2025 as a reward for finishing within Top 10%. Players who already own the car and finished within Top 10% would get Fusion Coins 500,000 instead. The car could also be obtained by purchasing an in-app purchase that was available at the aforementioned date.

    • The ED Design Torq and the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV were offered for $35 by purchasing a bundle containing the 2 cars and 2 decals for the Torq & 1 decal for the SV. The 2 decals for the Torq can also be purchased for Voucher 80 each, while the decal for the SV cannot be purchased separately.
    • The Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) and the Brabham BT62 were offered for $35 by purchasing a bundle containing the 2 cars and 2 decals for the Skyline & 1 decal for the Brabham. The 2 decals for the Skyline can also be purchased for Voucher 80 each, while the decal for the Brabham can also be purchased for Voucher 200.

  • On September 3, 2025, all players received 1x 1-Hour Extra Tank 1-Hour Extra Tank as a compensation for the server maintenance on September 2, 2025 between 4:00 P.M and 6:00 P.M GMT.

Bugs/Glitches[]

  • Despite Boss Battle: Chrome Marauder (2) does not count towards the progress in a Racing Pass, the animation when a new level is reached or a new page is unlocked is still shown.
  • Audio Ad Relay Offers bug: Despite being announced in the official patch notes (available after playing a Career, Event, or Gauntlet race), the feature was not materialized, or at least not available to some players on different platforms.
  • 2025-09-11 "Game On" Cup's bugs:
    • The Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder, the Bugatti Mistral, and the ATS GT, despite being required to participate, were displayed as "Free-try".
    • When accessing directly from the Event tab, even if the duration of each Sprint has not ended, the event cannot be played, as the "Play" button is greyed out and displayed as "Finished". A workaround is to access it from the Calendar tab.
    • On the 2nd Sprint, Barcelona Sprint 5, using the Donkervoort D8 GTO or the Buick Riviera at stock, even with boosters and possibly with VIP buffs, does not guarantee that the player can finish the race without being disqualified.
      • This was fixed on September 15, 2025, with the aforementioned 2 cars were changed to a free-try, PRO one.
    • If the player accumulated more than 10 Cups, the indicator would display as if no Cups were accumulated.
  • Players on Windows platform are once again unable to watch ads to get rewards.
  • The first time the player opened the game, the buttons to watch ads to get rewards were inaccessible. Restarting the game would fix the issue.
  • 12th Anniversary Cake Hunt's bugs:
    • In the 2025-09-19 Airborne Anniversary Cup, one of the Goals requires the player to do 5 stunts 2 times, which is impossible to do as only bikes can do a stunt and this event features cars only.
      • This was changed to "Nitro distance: 200" on September 20, 2025.
    • Some players reported no Cakes appeared on the track, despite playing multiple races in the aforementioned Airborne Anniversary Cup and the 2025-09-19 Oktoberfast Cup that feature Cakes as a collectible item. This possibly happened if the player already finished a race in the Airborne Anniversary Cup.
      • This also possibly happened if the player is already in Champion League or above in any of the World Series season.
      • On September 25, 2025, affected players were compensated with a random amount of Cakes. However, the bug resurfaced on September 26, 2025.
  • In the 2025-10-10 Formula E Cup, one of the Goals requires the player to do 5 stunts 3 times, which is impossible to do as only bikes can do a stunt and this event features the Formula E Gen2, which is a car.
    • This was changed to "No wrecks" on October 11, 2025.
