Overview[]
Asphalt Xtreme[]
The Unimog U 4023 is a Class D Truck. It is customized with a bull bar and headlights attached to the roof.
It requires 10 Blueprints to unlock. Oil changes takes 8 minutes to complete and costs
150.
Performance[]
The Unimog, like all vehicles of its archetype, has extremely slow acceleration, a low top speed in comparison to other archetypes, great maximum airspeed, the ability to smash through barriers, a very lengthy nitro duration, and the tendency to have glitchy collisions due to it's large hitbox. The Unimog separates itself from the trucks class by having decent handling for such a large vehicle. It's below average top speed makes the Unimog faster than only the Mercedes-Benz Zetros when all in is activated. One particular stand out trait the Unimog has is it's amazing nitro power when the all-in nitro is engaged. It's nitro power is the best in it's archetype, allowing the Unimog to accelerate rapidly, especially with the drift-boost technique applied. It also can max out it's airspeed on almost every ramp, which is something no other truck can do as effectively or reliably as the Unimog.
Being a Class D car, the Unimog's maximum level without rank up tools is 15. At this level the Unimog is middle-of-the-road in terms of performance compared to other class D vehicles. It is possible to go around tracks using nothing but all in nitro, but the lower top speed makes it harder to maintain as the Unimog does not cover as much ground compared to higher ranks. If the nitro runs out, then the extremely low base top speed severely punishes the driver, making the Unimog an inconsistent choice for multiplayer at this rank.
At Level 50, while the Unimog's lower all-in nitro speed makes it generally slower than the Perlini 105F Red Tiger and MAN TGX D38 on most tracks, it's unique characteristics actually make it better than the Perlini on airspeed demanding tracks. One particular example is Thai Beach, where the Unimog is the fastest car thanks to it's rapid acceleration and astonishing airspeed potential, as well as being able to take shortcuts only monster trucks and trucks can take. On tracks with good amount of ramps such as (Emerald Forest), the Unimog can come close to the Perlini's pace, but lags behind even the H&H Bulldog Extreme 4X4 on straight line tracks like as Autumn Winds and Off-Piste Race. The Unimog is viable in multiplayer thanks to it's resistance to knockdowns, and solid performance on a good amount of tracks. It may run into issues keeping up with other cars using all-in nitro due to the low top speed however, and drifting on or just before ramps to gain airspeed on certain ramps can be risky as barrel rolls may cause the player to wreck upon landing.
The displayed and approximate fake speed of the Level 50 Unimog U 4023 are:
(Speed Modifier is ~104.4% when using the Land Rover Defender as a benchmark.)
- Top Speed w/o boost: 134.4 mph (~140.3 mph)
- Top Speed w/ Level 1 long nitro: 152 mph (~158.7 mph)
- Top Speed w/ Level 2 long nitro: 158 mph (~165.0 mph)
- Top Speed w/ Level 3 long nitro: 164.8 mph (~172.1 mph)
- Top Speed w/ Level 4 ET long nitro: 171 mph (~178.5 mph)
- Top Speed w/ All-in nitro: 172 mph (~179.6 mph)
- Top Speed w/ All-in nitro & ET: 180 mph (~187.9 mph)
- Max Air Speed: 201 mph (~209.8 mph)
- Max Air Speed w/ ET: 208 mph (217.2 mph)
The Unimog has the best speed modifier in the game, making the seemingly low displayed top speed actually quite respectable when considering the modifier. Like Muscle cars, Trucks can get faster times with the use of extra tank, thanks to the massive increase in all-in top speed that can be easily maintained with the lengthy nitro sustained by ramming into obstacles. Despite the modifier, the Unimog's ultimate top speed is nothing special, it can be 1-2 seconds off the pace of the Perlini or the MAN on straight line tracks. The Unimog has it's uses in Time limited events as a Perlini alternative in the event that the player doesn't have the Perlini in their garage, and is always available for use in non-test drive events due to it being in D class
Overall, despite the Unimog's unique attributes allowing it to excel on select tracks in the game, it simply is not versatile enough to challenge the Perlini on most tracks where trucks excel. It also has the problem of requiring over 2000 blueprints to max out due to it being a Class-D car. Despite this, the Unimog is still worth maxing out if the player is unable to accquire the Perlini at Level 50.
