If you are familiar with this, Asphalt 8 was definitely your childhood game but unfortunately let's talk about the history of the downfall.

March 20 2014: Booster price tag increase and car price tag changes[]

This is where the downfall began for me, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT! Gameloft as you know increased the price tag of Nitro Starter Nitro Starter, Tuning Kit Tuning Kit † and many cars as in look at the changes

Nitro Starter & Tuning kit changed from Credits 9,000 → Credits 24,000

June 18 2014: Premium Cars, Fuel Events, Very Expensive Cars, and McLaren P1 price tag change[]

Just why? This is when Asphalt 8 started to truly become Pay2Win and I will show you the changes.

  • All events now require Fuel ( Fuel 0 - 10) and no longer allow a car to be rented manually, as all cars are now rented by default (e.g. "Free Try" or "Stock Vehicle").
  • Premium Cars introduced. These cars could only be obtained via their IAP car packs.
  • All cars introduced from this update, including the SSC Tuatara, onwards are significantly more expensive than cars from previous updates, especially in upgrades.
  • Booster duration reduced for all boosters.
  • The McLaren P1™'s price was raised to Credits 475,000 after the introduction of the Ferrari FF.

December 17 2014: Addition of Pro Kits and Tokens[]

Well well well, now this is when things started to truly go bad.

  • Pro Kits introduced. These allow a car to perform better than its maximum rank would allow, similar to a Tuning Kit. However, unlike Tuning Kits, Pro Kits can upgrade the stats of a car individually, and require cards in order to purchase unlocks
  • New currency: Tokens (Tokens). Tokens are a premium currency introduced in this update, and can be used to buy Double Credits Bonuses, Extra Tanks, Pro Kit Boxes, cars, and to refill fuel points.

March 5 2015: Reduction of the payout when participated[]

Why is this happening?

  • "Participated" race reward of Elimination races reduced by 80% in Career Mode, allowing no more than Credits 291 to be earned for finishing outside of the podium finish (3rd, 2nd, or 1st).

September 30 2015: Mastery Changes[]

Yay. This is when Asphalt 8 started going to a new low.

May 31 2016: IAP Decals[]

Oh noes. More IAP yay.

  • Decals can now be purchased as IAPs. There are two new Decal Packs: Top Contender Decal Pack and Garage Kingpin Decal Pack.

June 8 2016: License Reduction[]

Ugh, why is Gameloft doing this?

July 27 2016: Addition of V.I.P system[]

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH, THIS FOR THE GOD DAMN FREAKING SAKE WAS WHEN GAMELOFT REALLY SCREWED UP AND BEACAME SH*T.

October 12 2016: Token Upgrades[]

OH GOSH! This was when things started to go out of hand.
