Versus basics, Asphalt Xtreme.
Versus, also known as Duel, is a one-on-one race in the Asphalt series. It appears in Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, Asphalt 8: Airborne, Asphalt Nitro, and Asphalt Xtreme, albeit tweaked in the latter.
Overview[]

Versus is exactly the same as Classic/Normal Race, except that the player faces off against just one racer using a different car. Like with Classic, traffic is present in this mode (except if the player races in French Guiana or does the race in Quick Solo Race). Bonus stars are almost always finishing the race first with each car.
In Asphalt Xtreme, monster trucks and trucks act as traffic and must be avoided, as crashing into them has a very high chance of wrecking the player's vehicle.
Winning + Stars[]
Finishing a Versus event in 1st place grants 3 stars. Finishing 2nd doesn't award any other stars. Note that Versus is the only race type in which all 5 stars usually cannot be obtained in one go. Therefore, the player must win the Versus event once with each car. However, in Asphalt Nitro, the bonus stars can be different; sometimes, even just one car is required.
Achievement[]
Winning a Versus event for the first time awards the Mano a Mano achievement.
