The Volkswagen Golf Design Vision GTI is a concept hatchback car by Volkswagen.
Description
The Volkswagen Golf Design Vision GTI is powered by a 3.0L twin-turbocharged TSI VR6. The engine develops 496 hp (370 kW) and 413 ft·lb (560 N·m) between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. Power is channeled to all four wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.
The Vision GTI uses ceramic brake discs, with the front ones being 380 mm in diameter and the rear ones being 356 mm. The ceramic brake discs and red-painted brake callipers shine through the spokes of the 20-inch alloy wheels, which have been redesigned from the original Golf GTI.
Design-wise, the Golf Design Vision GTI uses a futurized variant of the Golf GTI's design.
The Golf Design Vision GTI is capable of acceleration from standstill to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
Asphalt 8: Airborne
Summary
The Volkswagen Golf Design Vision GTI was added in the Tenerife Update as a mid Class C car with the following rank statistics:
- Starting rank: 1284
- This is shared with the Audi R8 LMS Ultra due to both cars having the same starting top speed and nitro stats
- MAX rank: 1436
- MAX+PRO rank: 1539
- Tuning Kit bonus: +37
- Stock to MAX+PRO rank difference: 255
- Nitro Efficiency: 9/14/19
Performance
The Volkswagen Golf Design Vision GTI is a nitro-focused car and has similar acceleration to the Felino cB7. The Golf only has average handling and drifting capabilities and a low nitro efficiency.
With all of these performance drawbacks combined, the Golf cannot beat the Felino cB7 or Lamborghini Miura, as these cars have much better overall stats while also having much better nitro efficiency. With the Golf having a low top speed stat, it loses a lot of speed when it runs out of nitro, which can pose a very serious problem on long tracks like Tokyo.
Usage
The Volkswagen Golf Design Vision GTI is only a collector's item, as despite having a higher MAX+PRO rank than the Lamborghini Miura and Felino cB7, the Golf is incapable of competing with either car due to them having superior overall stats while also being cheaper to upgrade.
The Golf is also not recommended for Events or Multiplayer; attempting to use it in Multiplayer will most likely place it at the mercy of the TVR Sagaris, McLaren MP4/8, and even the Aston Martin Vulcan, none of which the Golf can compete with. A McLaren M14A with a setup of 9 0 10 0 can reach about 389 kmh at a rank of 1284, which is either similar to or equal to the Golf's starting rank. This further proves how inferior the Golf is to current Multiplayer-tuned cars. The only use left for the Golf is the Hot Summer collection.
Price
The Volkswagen Golf Design Vision GTI currently costs 2,275 to purchase. As of the 2019 Spring Update, upgrades costs 928,000 while Pro Kits require 310,400, 25 of each Class C Part, 24 Early & Initial Techs, 12 Mid-Techs and 40 V6 Engines.
The Golf could also be obtained through the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport's Enduro Double Down event by banking 35,000; if the player already had the Golf, 150,000 would be rewarded instead. It was also featured in the Zenvo ST1's EDD.
The Golf counts towards the Hot Summer collection. Completing both version of the collection awards a total of 1,125,000.
Championship
- Main article: Championship/Asphalt 9 Championship
The Volkswagen Golf Design Vision GTI is part of the Asphalt 9 Championship, which was launched on August 24, 2018 after the McLaren 720S' World Tour. Players are given 7 days to start the event and 3 days to complete it.
Asphalt Nitro
The Volkswagen Golf Design Vision GTI was added in the Italy Update as a Class C car. It now costs 525 and has a fully upgraded rank of only 1512. With this, the Golf's usefulness has been pushed to almost nothing as the only use it has is to complete certain Career Mode events.
